I was in Las Vegas in 2006 and my wife had me take a photo trip by myself to Moab. I was there for 3 days travelling Canyonlands, Arches and Dead Horse Point. Canyonlands was my favorite, Dead Horse the least. Part of that was not being able to buy a pass for the 3 days I was there. They required paying each day you visited.

The one comment I heard over and over in Canyonlands by people who had been to the Grand Canyon was "this is better than the Grand Canyon". I've never been there but I think the accessibility of everything is what puts it over the top.

By the way, I stood in the same spot you did at Dead Horse Point for your photo. Nice series of shots. The last one , with the small aperture producing the starburst, is my favorite. I like Turret Arch too.

Very nice! The starburst in the last one is so cool --- did you do that in post processing, or was it a filter, or natural beams? That is surprising to me that you think it is more stunning than the Grand Canyon, I really need to go see the Moab area some day.
