Pet Portraits

Time for another session in the studio with Frannie and Buster and the bathing beauty, Izzy, who belongs to my daughter, Courtney. Now I know where all her money goes! They are backlit by the window with a sheer over it and they are sitting on a coffee table with a white blanket on it. Flashes at 45 degrees on both sides of them. I love the high contrast look on them since they are black and white. Comments?

Very precious captures! I like your compositions, your backgrounds, the dof and lighting. My only suggestion is to lighten some of the eyes, they are hard to see even in the larger-sized images. That blog link I sent you today has a free action called "Touch of Light/Touch of Dark" and I have used it to lighten subjects' eyes, it works pretty well.

Great! I'll give it a shot.

You should never do that to a dog--especially such a noble looking one. This reminds me of the line in the movie about the female professional baseball league during WWII when Tom Hanks said: "There is no crying in baseball." Well, LJP says: "There is no dressing-up dogs in photography."

Good captures of all your dog photos. I think I should promote a "dog photo contest" between you and your running buddy!
