Lauren's Portrait

I like the opaque look of the portrait on the left. This is a different look to me and I like it. Might make a good postcard for a mailout! Lauren is my neighbor and she's all grown up and graduated from Texas A & M University this past May. She's one of my personal models. Look for more of Lauren this week. What do you think of this look for a portrait? Be honest!!

Of all the ones you have posted so far, this one is by far your best composite. The two photographs really go together and I think that all the colors are very complementary of each other.

In addition, both of these photos are top notch. The lighting is good, the color seems very natural and the poses and composition are simple but very effective.

Really fine work here, lady!

I'm like the other Larry, I think they work best together but either one would stand alone. If the left photo is processed with a texture layer I wonder how it might look with a mask on the eyes at about 25% opacity? I don't do portraits much, just wondering.

I am still having trouble with the texture over Lauren's face...she is absolutely beautiful and I don't think it shows as completely through the texture. I like the texture in the rest of the image, just not on her face. In the shot without the texture, I wish the plant wasn't in there and her eye sockets can use brightening up too, but both images are really good. The cowboy hat one is my favorite though, I think, just the pose, the angle you are at in relation to her, her expression, the hat. I can see that one used in some kind of advertisement...like in Sundance catalogue (without the second shot overlaying it).

She's a beauty and a natural. Lucky me behind the lens!!

I like both of the shots in this composite a lot Shirley! With both shots it seems to me you have shown us a bit of Lauren's personality to go along with her appearance.

Well done!

I like the composite very much. While I would like to see the straight shot for the left photo, I don't have a problem with the texture. It's well done and looks nice.

I would like the photo on the right without the splatter on her face (or hair) and, removing the ink streak down the left side of the photo. I think they both take away from her photo instead of adding something.

Nice job on exposure and composition.
